WEC Units: College of Biological Sciences |
The College of Biological Sciences (CBS) is, to date, the largest academic unit to participate in the WEC pilot. CBS has a complex, interdisciplinary structure, including four academic departments, two departments affiliated with the Medical School, and two academic programs. The College enrolls more than 1800 students who pursue Bachelor of Sciences degrees in seven majors. Although the specializations of the majors differ, they share a foundational core curriculum. Consequently, CBS faculty and staff are working with the WEC project to articulate shared writing values and skills that can be developed in the core sequence and, ultimately, honed as they complete their majors.
